Ghost Pin – FREE Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Ghost Pin – FREE Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Halloween is coming, and like everything this year, it’s going to be a little different, so I thought about doing something fun and easy to be used with any clothes, and with that, you can carry the spirit of Halloween with you without any costume.

I chose to do a little amigurumi ghost pin (wearing a witch hat). It is very quick to make, and you can change the color of the hat if you want to make different versions for friends or family members.

So, let’s start!

Materials:

Finished Size:

Approximately 3.9 inches (10 cms.)

Notes:

  • The pattern is made to be work in a continuous spiral (do not join rounds)
  • The ghost is not completely round it’s more like an oval so in that way is more suitable for a pin.
  • Be careful to do the decrease on the ghost in the same way that I indicated you to achieve the body’s shape.

Special Technique:

Invisible Join (If you need help with this technique, you can find my tutorial HERE).

Abbreviations:

Rnd = Round
sts = Stitches
sc = Single Crochet
dec = Decrease (sc next 2 stitches together)
inc = Increase (sc in indicated stitch 2 times)
FLO = Front Loop Only
[…] x… = repeat instructions in brackets “x” times
(…) = total amount of stitches made in current rnd

Instructions:

Ghost: Yarn A – Make 1

Rnd. 1 : 4 sc in a magic ring (4 sc)
Rnd. 2 : [inc] x 4 (8 sc)
Rnd. 3 : [inc, 3 sc] x 2 (10 sc)

Finish stuffing the body and fasten off.

*Be careful! if you have safety eyes it’s important to place them before closing the ghost.

Hat: Start with Yarn B – Make 1

Rnd. 1 : 4 sc in a magic ring (4 sc)
Rnd. 2 : 1 sc in each sc around (4 sc)
Rnd. 3 : inc, 3 sc (5 sc)

Rnd. 10 : 1 sc in each sc around (24 sc)
Change to Yarn B
Rnd. 11 : FLO [inc, 2 sc] x 8 (32 sc)
Rnd. 12 : 1 sc in each sc around (32 sc)

Close and fasten off using the invisible join technique to get a perfect circle in the hat.

Assembling:

Sew the hat to the ghost between rounds 4 and 5.

Pin Back:

Using the sewing thread, sew the safety pin/pin in the back of the hat.

Mouth:

For the smile, use the black sewing thread to embroider a V shape between the eyes of the ghost.

Cheekies:

Color the cheeks using a fabric marker, chalk, or makeup, like blush or eye shadow (you can use a cotton swab for that).

And done! Now you have your ghost ready for Halloween!
